Error: Critical Error, Please Reinstall |
If you get the error "critical error, please reinstall", this means that some other program or person has attempted to remove CleanSurf. Reinstalling CleanSurf will resolve this problem:
- Click Start
- Click Settings or Control Panel
- Double-Click Add/Remove Programs
- Find "FilterPak" and click the "Remove" button (*See below if "FilterPak" is not listed)
- When prompted, choose "REPAIR" and click Next
- When prompted, reboot your computer to finalize the repair.
If "FilterPak" is not present in the Add/Remove Programs menu, download CleanSurf again and reinstall from scratch. Click here to download: CleanSurf.exe.
If this error recurs, please ensure that no one in your family is attempting to delete CleanSurf forcibly from your computer. Assuming this is not the case, the next possibility is that you have conflicting software installed on your computer. Review our list of software conflicts to ensure this is not the case: Software Conflicts.
If no known conflict is found, you may have Spyware on your computer that is causing the issue. Download one or more of the following spyware removal programs to ensure your computer is clean, then reinstall CleanSurf.
